Posted February 20, 2026 Winter Weather Forecast and Snow Response Mayor Bowser has activated a full deployment of the District Snow Team for Sunday, February 22. The forecast calls for rain during the day, followed by snow in the evening. Up to 2.5 inches of snow may fall between Sunday evening and early Monday morning. Plows will begin treating major roads with salt at 12:00 p.m. Sunday. The District will continue to monitor the weather and adjust its response as needed. Trash, Recycling, and Food Waste Collection Weather may cause delays in trash, recycling, and food waste collection. Residents should place bins at the curb before precipitation begins to avoid going out during icy conditions.
